Background

Once upon a time, in the depths of the West Shroud, a Keeper was born into the unremarkable Faamau clan. This seemingly ordinary beginning held no grand omens or prophecies, no whispering boons from the elementals or mystical proclamations. It was a quiet beginning.
Named Ciah, she grew up in the embrace of her clan living a life that was entirely unremarkable. She hunted, foraged and learned how to be someone who could bring pride to her clan. Alas fate would have a different plan in store for her.
In a cataclysmic display of his wrath, Bahamut unleashed his fury across Eorzea and reduced the once lush West Shroud to a hostile wasteland.
On that evening the Faamau clan was reduced to cinders. Their home, their sanctuary, now lay in ruins consumed by flames and disintegration of Dalamud. Amidst the chaos and destruction Ciah found herself fortunate enough to escape with nothing but the clothes on her back.

Starving, and penniless, Ciah was forced to adapt to the world after the destruction of her home. Her clan had been isolated, the only people she'd ever come across being Keeper men and those foolish enough to be caught in her clan's territory.
Driven by desperation, Ciah's instincts guided her towards Gridania. It stood as what she prayed would be a sanctuary for those who's lives had been shattered by the Calamity. But fate had other plans. Before she could reach the city, her path intersected with a merciless elezen, a Woodwailer, at a small hamlet where she'd pilfered a bite to eat.
The Woodwailer, reveling in his power, intended to subject her to a twisted form of justice by relishing in her suffering before dragging her to face her fate. Panic would overtake her and her instincts would kick in, her trembling hand plunging a dagger into him with a desperate resolve. Over and over again the blade went into him until he drew his last breath.
The air felt heavy with the weight of her actions, the consequences of her desperate bid for freedom shackles around her ankles.

He would save her.
In the depths of despair, when all hope seemed lost, her knight in shining armor emerged from the shadows with promises dripping from his lips. The Coeurlclaw King himself had followed the trail of the lone Keeper and found her, broken and desperate.
He vowed to protect her, to provide her with whatever she needed. Her slaughter of the Woodwailer had outcast her from society. And so Ciah Faamau made the fateful decision to join the Coeurlclaws and dove into a life of crime.
The years went by and the shiny promises began to grow dull. Her affections for the King faded like a waning moon and she had no desire to be a poacher. But escape seemed impossible. The watchful eye of her king kept her trapped and should she flee, her Coeurlclaw sisters would swiftly track her down and drag her back or worse. The outside world offered no solace, for the Woodwailers viewed her with suspicion whilst other Keepers shunned the group and viewed their way of way of living as an abomination.

In a twist of fate, Menphina, the benevolent goddess of the moon, would cast her compassionate gaze upon Ciah and extended her a merciful boon. It was during the aftermath of a fierce battle that lead to the death of the Coeurlclaw King that Ciah escaped, clutching onto the meager belongings she could salvage from the group.
The Shroud was no place for her. Should the Woodwailers find her, a fate worse than death awaited her. Should her Coeurlclaw sisters find her, her life would be extinguised without mercy. Death's claws were the only thing that awaited Ciah and she felt as though she had no choice but to abandon her homeland forever.
Aided out of the Shroud by a Seeker smuggler, Ciah would find herself in the vast expanse of Thanalan, a land she found herself despising.
Setting up residence in a nearby cave for she was afraid the Brass of Ul'dah would send her back to the Shroud, Ciah spent a year evading people. Her heart brimmed with hostility towards those she encountered, a defense mechanism to shield herself and her identity from prying eyes.
Drawn by the allure of work and promise of clothing and food by a woman she saw as her lifeline, Ciah reluctantly ventured into the bustling her city. Fearful of being recognised and forcibly returned to the Shroud by the watchful Brass, the Keeper began to cautiously navigated the intricate web of city life.
To her, her survival hangs by a thread as she seeks to carve out a place for herself in this unfamiliar world.

Hooks

.ONE. Aggressive and unkind, Ciah is not one to easily find common ground with those who aren't Keepers. She has a spicy brand of aggression for Seekers, hyur and particularly elezen with her disdan for those groups running deep and often leading to violence if her temper is tested. Only through perseverance can one hope to earn her loyalty for it's not given easily..TWO.. With a bow slung over her shoulder and armed to the teeth, Ciah is a fierce and skilled huntress. She's willing to take on most dangerous tasks as long as the gil is heavy in her pocket..THREE.. Whispers spread like wildfire fueling the intrigue of a masked, aggressive female Keeper in Central Thanalan. Known for her aggression and flagrant disregard of the laws, going as far as to stab someone in the middle of the city in broad daylight, one would do well to avoid her.

.FOUR. Although initially guarded, once trust is established Ciah becomes an unwavering friend. Fellow Keepers, particularly the women, have the biggest chance to having a warm (for Ciah, that is) reception..FIVE. For those hailing from Gridania, the exploits of the Coeurclaws are known far and wide. The mention of their name ignites a myriad of emotion depending on who you speak to. Perhaps the wind has carried tales of a member or two slipping away from their ranks, or perhaps the Coeurlclaws have seduced someone dear to you into joining them..SIX. Although initially guarded, once trust is established Ciah becomes an unwavering friend. Fellow Keepers, particularly the women, have the biggest chance to having a warm (for Ciah, that is) reception.

Hello!
If you've made it this far, that usually means you've finished reading this carrd so firstly: thank you. I hope you had a blast. ♥ If anything at all piqued your curiousity or you just fancy a natter my /tells are usually open in game.
I'm based in the UK so it can be a little difficult to catch me to arrange stuff and i'd like it if that could be kept in mind when planning stuff.
FFXIV is my main roleplay source so I'm around a lot on various characters. I do get anxious about walking up to people (even friends!) so I appreciate it when people walk up to me.

Disclaimers
Ciah is not a nice lady. She's rude, aggressive and can be unpleasant to be around.
I am not her and she does not represent me, my personal morals or thoughts.

OOC & Rules

.RULE ONE. Nothing Ciah says ICly is personal on a ooc level. She's defensive and uses her language and behaviour as a way to defend herself from any perceived harm..RULE TWO. Please don't pester me for roleplay. Standing over me, on top of me, spamming me with tells and following Ciah around in public or in private venues is a surefire way to find yourself on my blacklist..RULE THREE. Unless otherwise agreed OOCly please don't start roleplaying at me in /tells..RULE FOUR. I'm not particularly interested in rping with characters who are minors, self-inserts, godmodding and the like. a little lorebending is fine but i'm not interested in roleplaying with your half sineater, half voidsent lord of all creation and unkillable deity..RULE FIVE. Just don't be gross.
